According to researchers, being addicted to the internet during adolescent years alters one's brain chemistry which can lead to an adverse impact on overall cognitive functioning. Adolescence is a period when the body goes through several changes be it physical or mental and thus the brain is more vulnerable to addiction during that phase.
The impact of internet addiction is not only limited to physical symptoms like headaches, weak eyesight, risk of obesity, etc. it also has larger implications such as mental health issues, behavioral changes, etc.
